FAQ

There are many questions you may have when it comes to Tantra or indeed the work we offer. Here we aim to answer most of the questions we’ve come across in a hope that it will clarify things for you.

Please feel free to take a look and get in touch with anything not covered.

  • What is Tantra?

Tantra invites you to say YES to life.

We practice what we call ‘Heart-Centered Tantra’

Tantra is an ancient Indian tradition that originated thousands of years ago as an esoteric system incorporating practices, rituals and meditations. More and more, it is becoming known as a spiritual way of life for many, with incredible therapeutic and healing benefits.

Tantra creates a way to awareness, authenticity and acceptance to all that we feel and everything that we are. Through the practice of Tantra comes emotional, spiritual and sexual healing, helping us to fully reclaim and step into our sexual power, bringing light, confidence and consciousness to all of the different parts of ourselves.

The practice of Tantra gives an opportunity for you to feel into and authentically express your wants, needs and desires and an invitation to explore your emotional responses, your sexuality, your connection to yourself and relationship to others.

  • Is Tantra just about sex?

┬áMany associate Tantra solely with sex and yes, sexuality does come into it in the form of ‘sexual energy’. ‘Sexual energy’ equates to ‘Life-force energy’- something we all have within us and yet something many people feel stuck within their system. Sadly, there is also a lot of shame and trauma associated with sexuality and tantra can enable you to look at ways to move through this. Yet, Tantra (at least Tantra as we know and teach it) is not all about sex or ‘Tantric Sex’. Sexual energy is a powerful medium to help us to reach parts of our beings we otherwise might not by harnessing this incredible force within us. This does not mean having lots of sex with lots of people but rather taking the time and space to breath into our own energy.

  • Do I need to have a partner to practice Tantra or to come to one of your workshops?

No, absolutely not. The core essence of Tantra and of our work is about connecting with yourself first and foremost. A deep and authentic relationship with yourself enables deeper and more beautiful relationships with others. You are of course also very welcome to practice with a partner, lover, loved one and we welcome both individuals and couples (romantic or otherwise) to our workshops.
